Zoom Play

With so many workers using Zoom and other video conferencing platforms to keep connected during the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s only natural that people would come up with ways to make Zoom meetings more fun.

A California animal shelter created Goat 2 Meeting as a fundraiser, in which people can hire a farm animal to join in on a video conference call. Meanwhile, Zoom users figured out that some simple games—such as Space Invaders—could be adapted for use on Zoom and other video-conferencing platforms via the screen sharing function.

Given the explosive expansion of video conferencing as an everyday tool, expect such Zoom hijinks to continue to proliferate and become ever more sophisticated.
